School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka
Holcová, Petra ; Müller, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
Theme of the diploma thesis is architectural study of school buildings in Ostrava. It combines a kindergarten, primary and secondary school – a grammar school. The school is situated next to the cultural cluster Černá louka in Ostrava – the new designed cultural center of the city, and also on the bank of the river Ostravice. The main idea is adaptation of the scale of school spaces due to children of a different age, an orientation of classrooms to south-east and at the same time to the river bank. The kindergarten is separated from service and volume of the school, the primary school and the grammar school are united in one two- and three-store building with an inner yard. The buildings are accessible for pupils from an entrance square near Černá louka, the entrance for public is situated on the new designed street connecting Černá louka and Nová Karolina. The complex offers also sport facilities, a gym, a swimming pool and exterior sport ground which is accessible from the cycling track along the river Ostravice. The exterior look of the buildings is based on the construction, the reinforced concrete structure from white architectural concrete, and is animated by shading panels from corten sheets.
Architectural concrete
Novosad, Petr ; Ďurica,, Tibor (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (referee) ; Klečka,, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
In the development of concrete structures and its finishes we are constantly looking for new ways to highlight the aesthetic value of the concrete. With all the possibilities of shapes, textures and colours, an architectural concrete in the hands of an architect and designer becomes a material, which can be used to express different individual and specific ideas. It is necessary to recognize and cope with these possibilities, but also the limits, which determine the properties of concrete as the proper design and implementation creates excellent finishes that are otherwise inaccessible to other materials and technologies. The theoretical part includes an extensive summary carries out a research on issues of architectural concrete and its production. From this research comes a new definition of architectural concrete and the newly redesigned and determined classes of architectural concrete with respect to the continuous development of technologies and production possibilities, rendering and surfacing. The aim of the thesis is to verify the possibilities of producing quality architectural concrete and additional treatment of the surface with respect to the desired aesthetic quality.
Technology of translucent architectural concrete
Adámková, Aneta ; Novosad,, Petr (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with problems of light transmitting concrete. The aim was to design a process for the production of light transmitting concrete. The theoretical part was compiled from foreign knowledge, which led to an assessment of the availability and price of optical fibers in the Czech Republic. The experimental part deals with the issues of different types of anchores in production and the selection of adequate diametr of the optical fiber from the three tested diameters. In the conclusion are the findings that led to the design of the production proces that is also described.
Influence of input materials for quality architectural concrete
Ondryášová, Veronika ; Novosad, Petr (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the influence of properties of feedstocks for the production of quality surfaces of architectural concrete. The introductory part describes the definition of architectural concrete with the advantages and disadvantages of its implementation. In the following chapters, the characteristics, the dosage or the chemical composition of the input materials are given. Besides the design of the mixture, important parameters for the creation of a quality surface of concrete are compaction, precise placement in formwork and subsequent treatment of the surface. Individual types of architectural concrete, their method of production with the examples belonging to concrete constructions are also given. In the practical part, 4 mixtures were designed, whose type or dosage of feedstocks was changed. In creating mixtures, emphasis was placed on minimal segregation of fresh concrete and the formation of pores on the surface of hardened concrete.

Winery Altenberk
Palásková, Zita ; Nováková, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The subject of the master´s thesis is design documentation for the construction of a winery on the outskirts of the town Hustopeče. The building is designed on a slope between the vineyards and consists of two parts that are connected under the terrain. Under the terrain there is also an underlying part of the building so as not to disturb the landscape of the vineyards. The first part is used for wine production and the second part is used for the presentation of wine. The building is designed from in situ reinforced concrete with load-bearing walls and internal columns. The basement walls are made of waterproof concrete. The above-ground perimeter walls consist of sandwich structures consisting of a load-bearing wall, thermal insulation and a partition made of architectural concrete. At the same time, architectural concrete dominates the entire building. The foundation is designed on piles due to the subsoil. Horizontal structures are solved as locally supported slabs and the roofing is solved by two vegetation roofs and one load-bearing roof.

School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka
Chroustová, Andrea ; Němec, Josef (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
The goal of diploma thesis was design of educational building complex in Ostrava, Černá louka. Design is divided into two buildings- the main building(primary and secondary school) and kindergarden building. Main entrance into the complex is oriented to the catchment area - new living in Nová Karolina. Subsidence of the Kindergarten object creates landscaped space in front of schools. The green belt for sport and recreation was preserved along the river. Form the main object corresponds with the surrounding buildings - closed block with an inner atrium. The block opens and decreases towards the river, as well as kindergarten object. The facade of the building is special architectural concrete with the ability to clean the air - pierced around the windows. Gllass is used towards atrium and the river. Colours facade is enlivened by yellow surfaces lining by the windows, for common areas are used flat glass glossy green panels. Operation of the main building is divided into 4 units. Primary school is oriented towards the river and it is typical for square classrooms and a large corridor. Secondary school, coupled with the high school is located in 2nd and 3rd floor in the atrium arrangement of corridors with classrooms. Next part is gymnasium oriented to the Černá louka. New Synagogue in Olomouc
Kos, Jakub ; Velek, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
The project was influenced by several factors, the most significant being the water element, which is very important for Judaism and primarily symbolizes ritual purification. The concept divides the area in the axis of Nešverova Street, making an orthogonal block, further separated according to the functions, and public area under which a part of the underground parking is located. The block consists of the synagogue, museum, restaurant and administrative building of the Jewish community with a library. From the architectural standpoint, the project was significantly influenced by the stained glass window of the burned former synagogue, which was, in more modern spirit, imprinted into the museum’s facade. This window becomes a dominant element of the facade, because it pervades all three floors, so the rest of the building is not divided and for lighting of the exhibition areas skylights and artificial light are used. Significance of this concept is intensified by the fact that the visitor is dragged inside, right to the front of the synagogue, to which a ramp leads. There is an importance of the mentioned water element in the design of the synagogue. The whole concept is approached organically and was inspired by a drop of water falling down on the surface. The synagogue literally grows from a body of water which surrounds it and creates a crystalline element. The idea is amplified by the water wall which runs from the passageway all around the synagogue. Part of the administrative building and the restaurant are designed in more simple style, but the idea of arch is reflected in the moulding, which was designed intentionally with reference to the surrounding buildings. The rest of the site served as a small park and this function has been maintained. A significant element in this part of the site is Theresian gate, which remained from the 18th century fortification. The park was supplemented by an artificial bank, which covers the entrance to underground parking a
